As part of its commitment to maintaining an open dialog with all interested parties, S&P Global Platts is hosting a Midwest aluminum methodology workshop on July 17, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois.

This complimentary workshop will focus on the following topics:

Platts' current methodology for assessing the US Midwest Aluminum Transaction Premium
Recent developments in the value of the Midwest aluminum markets
Interest in the potential publication of "duty unpaid" values for the US Midwest market
Potential normalization procedures for index-linked, or spot formula, deals based on Platts Transaction Price

The goal of the workshop is to gather feedback from all stakeholders and interested parties regarding S&P Global Platts' current price assessments and methodology, and the potential for new assessments.

Attendees are welcome to propose additional topics to be considered for inclusion in the workshop. Please send all questions and feedback to [email protected] with a carbon copy to [email protected]. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available to the public upon request.

Any subsequent amendments or additions to the Platts' aluminum price assessments would follow normal editorial standards including a formal proposal, feedback, and review process. Discussion will be conducted under Chatham House Rules*.
