Maria Eugenia Garcia

Maria Eugenia Garcia is a senior editor for the Latin American crude. She joined Platts in 2010 as a market reporter for US and Latin American methanol, chlor-alkali and PVC markets. In 2012, she joined the US crude team and has since covered the Latin American crude market and the US and Latin American bunker markets. The impact of the Panama Canal expansion and the consequences of the IMO’s regulation to lower the sulfur content of all vessels by 2020 have been subjects she has presented in different forums.

Prior to Platts Maria Eugenia has been managing editorial teams in US and Mexico business publications. She was a bureau chief in Mexico’s Reforma newspaper in New York and managing editor of two Spanish publications for the Houston Chronicle. Maria Eugenia holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.


John-Laurent Tronche

John-Laurent Tronche manages the Americas crude oil market reporting team at S&P Global Platts, based in Houston. Prior to leading the crude team, John-Laurent managed for three years the Americas residual fuel oil and bunker fuel market reporting team. John-Laurent has also reported on gasoline, distillate, electric power and natural gas markets.
